Holiday Punch Drinks <\/h1>\n

Grog<\/h2>\n

Grog, sometimes called Pirate’s Grog, is a hearty, rich punch that your holiday guests will love. Be prepared to give out the recipe because you’ll surely be asked for it!<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

• 2 ounces dark rum<\/li>\n
• 1 teaspoon of brown sugar<\/li>\n
• ½ ounce lime juice<\/li>\n
• ½ ounce orange juice<\/li>\n
• cinnamon stick (for garnish)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  In a tall, tempered glass or mug, add all the ingredients except the cinnamon stick. Fill to the brim with hot water and stir. Garnish with the cinnamon stick.<\/p>\n

  Pomegranate and Apricot Brandy Punch<\/h2>\n

  This recipe is good if you want to use a large punch bowl at your holiday party. It makes 12 servings.<\/p>\n

  Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • 1-1\/2 cups water<\/li>\n
  • 1 cup sugar<\/li>\n
  • 1 tablespoon powdered ginger<\/li>\n
  • 6 cups pomegranate juice<\/li>\n
  • 1 cup apricot brandy<\/li>\n
  • 2-1\/2 cups seltzer water<\/li>\n
  • 2-1\/2 cups fresh mint leaves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. In a pot, simmer the water, sugar, and ginger until the sugar dissolves completely.<\/li>\n
    2. Remove from the heat and add the mint leaves (save a few for the garnish).<\/li>\n
    3. Let steep for half an hour.<\/li>\n
    4. Strain out the mint leaves.<\/li>\n
    5. Add the mixture to the punch bowl and stir in the apricot brandy.<\/li>\n
    6. Stir in the seltzer water.<\/li>\n
    7. Sprinkle a few mint leaves on top for garnish.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       Mulled White Wine Sangria<\/h2>\n

       Try this recipe for a lighter, more elegant holiday punch drink. Serve in brandy glasses. Serves 12.<\/p>\n

       Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

       • 2 bottles of dry white wine (chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, etc.)<\/li>\n
       • 1 cup water<\/li>\n
       • ½ cup honey<\/li>\n
       • ¼ cup lemon juice (save the skins for garnish)<\/li>\n
       • 4 whole star anise<\/li>\n
       • 12 whole cloves<\/li>\n
       • 1 medium orange<\/li>\n
       • 1 pear, peeled, cored and sliced<\/li>\n
       • 1 apple, peeled, cored, sliced<\/li>\n
       • 2 whole lemons, sliced<\/li>\n
       • 4 cinnamon sticks<\/li>\n
       • 12 tangerines, peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

         Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

         1. In a pot, simmer the water, honey, lemon juice, star anise, cinnamon sticks and cloves. Let simmer for 15 minutes.<\/li>\n
         2. Add everything to the punch bowl, including all the rest of the ingredients.<\/li>\n
         3. Provide ice cubes to chill individual servings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
